Experience one of the most beautiful and astonishing tours of this historic land. Get up close and personal with some of the sites where the Holy Family took refuge from Herod during their flight, as well as Egypt’s most grandiose sites, including Cairo, Mount Sinai, the Red Sea, Aswan, Edfu, Luxor and a three-day cruise on the Nile. Egyptian civilization was born over 5,000 years ago, and the country’s historic sites are among the world’s greatest tourist attractions. It was here that the first multinational state was created, the first writing system, based on hieroglyphics, was invented, and the concepts of kingship, religion and bureaucracy were introduced. No wonder Egypt continues to fascinate us!

International flight to Cairo.
Arrival at Cairo Airport, meet and greet, and assistance. Transfer to the hotel for check-in. Dinner and overnight stay in Cairo.
Breakfast at the hotel. Depart with our French-speaking guide to visit Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt and city of the god Ptah. You will discover the famous Alabaster Sphinx and the majestic statue of Ramses II. Continue to Saqqara, a vast necropolis housing the Step Pyramid of Djoser, the world’s oldest stone monumental structure. Visit the mastabas, tombs of high dignitaries, and the pyramids of Giza: Cheops (one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World), Khafre, and Menkaure. Lunch included during the visits. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight in Cairo.
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the Cairo Citadel, a medieval fortress offering stunning views of the city, and the Muhammad Ali Mosque, a symbol of Islamic architecture. Explore the Coptic Quarter, with St. Sergius Church, the Hanging Church of St. Mary, and other historical sites. Visit the Egyptian Museum, home to the largest collection of pharaonic antiquities. Dinner and overnight in Cairo.
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport for a flight to Aswan. Upon arrival, visit the High Dam, a monumental structure controlling the Nile River. Check-in at the hotel, lunch, and overnight in Aswan.
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit Philae Island and its beautiful temple dedicated to the goddess Isis. Transfer to the port to embark on the M/S Blue Shadow 5* for a Nile cruise. Lunch and overnight onboard.
Sail to Kom Ombo. Visit the temple dedicated to the gods Sobek and Haroeris. Sail to Edfu. Lunch and overnight onboard.
Visit the Temple of Edfu, dedicated to the god Horus, then sail to Esna and cross the lock. Continue to Luxor. In Luxor, visit the Temples of Karnak and Luxor, jewels of ancient Egypt. Enjoy a Galabeya evening onboard the boat. Dinner and overnight onboard. (Luxor was the ancient city of Thebes, the capital of Egypt under the 18th dynasty.)
Visit the Valley of the Kings, the burial place of the pharaohs, and the mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari. Flight to Sharm el-Sheikh via Cairo. Check-in at the hotel. Lunch and overnight in Sharm el-Sheikh.
Free day to enjoy the beach and crystal-clear waters of the Red Sea. Relaxation and beach activities. Lunch and overnight in Sharm el-Sheikh.
Transfer by minibus to St. Catherine at the foot of Mount Sinai. Check-in at the hotel and visit the area. Lunch and overnight in St. Catherine.
Visit St. Catherine’s Monastery, one of the oldest Christian monasteries still active, famous for its manuscripts and icons. The Sinai, a biblical land, is steeped in history and spirituality. Return to Cairo. Lunch and overnight in Cairo.
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Cairo Airport for the return flight to Montreal.
