CHRISTIAN PILGRIMAGES
Come and experience a pilgrimage of faith, memory, and light through emblematic holy sites in Quebec. From the Sainte-Marguerite-d’Youville Sanctuary to the Saint-Benoît-du-Lac Abbey, passing through the footsteps of Marie-Léonie Paradis, Mother Marie-Rose, and Saint Kateri Tekakwitha, this journey invites you to deepen your relationship with God through prayer, the living history of our Church, and the beauty of our spiritual heritage. Two days to gather in prayer, walk together in faith, and let the Holy Spirit renew our hearts.
Highlights
The plus

A native of Estrie, I had my first missionary experiences in South Africa in 1993. This experience led me to work in many Sanctuaries, the first of which was Beauvoir in 1996, and then Saint Joseph’s Oratory. It is in this context (and in the discovery of a kinship with Saint Charles Garnier, Saint Marguerite d’Youville, and Jeanne Leber) that I began to lead pilgrimages in the footsteps of Canadian saints and blesseds for Americans (EWTN, Canadians Apostle’s tour, WYD Tour) and for the Diocese of Trois-Rivières. Recently ordained a priest on May 4, 2025, I am now the priest moderator (parish priest) of Saint-Cœur de Marie parish in the north of Trois-Rivières with 5 churches.

An artist with diverse interests but also passionate about human relations, Valérie particularly excels as a facilitator and group leader. As a guide and escort, she is especially comfortable in the context of pilgrimages since her deep faith and spiritual experience are the central elements that give meaning to her life. Originally from Saguenay – Lac-Saint-Jean, a part of her heart remains there, and it is a pleasure for her when she has the opportunity to showcase her beautiful region and the very welcoming population that inhabits it.
9:00 AM – Sainte-Marguerite-d’Youville Sanctuary, Varennes Visit the sanctuary including Sainte-Anne Basilica and the museum, allowing discovery of the life and work of Saint Marguerite d’Youville, an emblematic figure of faith and charity in Canada. 10:00 AM – Departure for Longueuil 10:30 AM – Saint-Antoine-de-Padoue Co-Cathedral, Longueuil Discovery of the church, the museum, and the tomb of Mother Marie-Rose, offering a strong historical and spiritual testimony. 12:30 PM – Lunch Meal at La Magia Italian restaurant in Old Longueuil (or similar). 2:00 PM – Departure for Kahnawake 2:30 PM – Kahnawake Mohawk Reserve Visit of Saint Francis Xavier Church, where Saint Kateri Tekakwitha rests, and the Mohawk Culture Interpretation Centre, allowing for a better understanding of the history and spirituality of this Indigenous community. 4:00 PM – Departure for Châteauguay 4:15 PM – Arrival at Manoir d’Youville Visit of Manoir d’Youville, a historic house testifying to the colonial era and the life of Saint Marguerite d’Youville. 5:30 PM – Dinner at the Restaurant. Free evening and overnight at Manoir d’Youville.
Departure from Manoir d’Youville towards Saint-Benoît-du-Lac Abbey. Guided visit of the abbey (audio guides), located in an exceptional natural setting on the shore of Lake Memphremagog. Founded in 1912, this Benedictine abbey is renowned for its simple and elegant architecture, its interior frescoes, and its atmosphere conducive to contemplation. The visit allows discovery of the monks’ living quarters and prayer spaces, followed by Mass in the abbatial church, a privileged moment of meditation. Then, discovery of a local vineyard or cider house (subject to availability), offering a glimpse of the artisanal production and local flavors. On-site tasting. Lunch. Then drive towards Sherbrooke. Visit of the Marie Léonie Paradis Centre, dedicated to the life and work of Marie Léonie Paradis, founder of a religious community active in education and social service. The center allows for a better understanding of her spirituality and heritage through exhibitions and testimonies. The visit continues with the local church, a symbol of Sherbrooke’s religious history and heritage.
