Sustainable Development
Spiritours has always been committed to sustainable development and responsible, solidarity-based tourism. To support the local economy, we prioritize tourism professionals (accommodation, transportation, catering, etc.) from the visited country. We are sensitive to the respect of the environment and local culture, and we strive to act concretely and consciously in this direction.
We are proud to be associated with Tourisme Durable Québec and Les Pages Vertes (a directory of eco-responsible businesses).
The Tourisme Durable Québec Commitment Charter expresses the members’ dedication to sustainable development. Members commit to contributing to debates, promoting best practices, and supporting the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the principles of the Future of Tourism coalition.
On a cultural level, members commit to respecting traditions, languages, and cultural practices, preserving artistic and cultural heritage, and promoting local products (terroir). At the economic and social level, they foster sustainable economic activity, involve local populations, improve quality of life, and promote gender equality. On the environmental level, they preserve the natural environment, conserve resources, support agroecology, and integrate climate issues.
