WHY TRAVEL TO QUEBEC?

Founded in 2003, Spiritours is more than just a tour operator, we have given ourselves the vocation to transform lives! We are the pioneer of healing travel and the only tour operator in French-speaking Canada specializing exclusively in spiritual tourism. We specialize in trips that allow people to stop and take stock of their lives. We offer personal and spiritual growth. Through our trips, we encourage encounters with oneself, with others and with something greater than oneself.

We offer two types of services, the organization of pilgrimages and the organization of wellness trips. These two totally different areas of activity come together in one point which is the very essence of Spiritours: the spiritual.

SPIRITOURS, THE REFERENCE FOR HEALING TRIPS IN QUEBEC

Quebec is full of a thousand wonders. It has wide open spaces, natural parks, forests as far as the eye can see, valleys, mountains, rivers and lakes and thousands of hiking trails. Our beautiful province is full of extraordinary places of worship to live your faith, a superb mix of cultures thanks to the First Nations, it abounds in spas, places of relaxation and retreat centers to recharge your batteries. You will also find very marked seasons with beautiful fall colors, the magical snow of winter, the vibrant summer with its festivals and spring and its sugar season.

Quebec is also a region accessible to all because of its French-English bilingualism.

We also combine our trips to Quebec with stops in Ontario: Ottawa, the capital of Canada, with its parliament, its cathedral and its museums, Niagara Falls, the Canadian Martyrs Shrine. We also offer extensions to the United States with visits to New York or Boston for example.

WHAT ARE YOU OFFERED ON A PILGRIMAGE TO QUEBEC?

Come and discover the religious and cultural heritage, the great natural spaces, the heritage of sanctity and the spiritual treasures of this mission land that is New France! With the canonizations of Brother André (2010), Kateri Tekakwitha (2012), Bishop François de Laval and Marie de l’Incarnation (2014) and its holy door, Quebec is becoming more and more known as a pilgrimage destination. We also enjoy excellent relationships with religious institutions across Canada, so we can offer a unique experience to your groups.

  • Book private masses
  • Meet with local religious communities. Interviews with shrine rectors and community leaders (upon request)
  • Accommodation in a monastery or religious house
  • Visits to cultural and religious heritage sites with specialized guides

WHAT IS A WELLNESS TRIP WITH SPIRITOURS?

At Spiritours our mission is to allow you to recharge your batteries, to develop yourself, to discover or rediscover yourself. All our trips are organized following this mission which is to transform you through these different areas:

  • Relaxation and resourcing
  • Personal development
  • Spiritual walk
  • Yoga and meditation retreat
  • Encounter with Aboriginal (First Nations) Spirituality

We also have at heart to propose stays that follow solidarity and responsible values. This is why we favor small group travel, with a slow pace, human-sized accommodations belonging to local owners (monasteries, abbeys, ashrams, spiritual centers, small family hotels and even some unusual accommodations such as yurts, domes, teepees on the water), and guides trained by Spiritours.

You dream of visiting Quebec or any other region of the world and you share the values of Spiritours? Do not hesitate to contact us, we will be happy to develop your project.

WHEN TO TRAVEL TO QUEBEC?

Winters

In order to enjoy a rejuvenating trip combining snowshoeing, spa and more, the months of December to March are ideal. Note that temperatures during this period drop below 0 degrees. But what could be better after a good day in the snow than to relax in a Nordic bath or with a good hot chocolate?

Cécile’s favorite winter region: LA MAURICIE for its large park, winter activities (snowshoeing, cross-country skiing…), its proximity to Trois Rivières and the Notre-Dame-du-Cap sanctuary open all year long.

Fall

To make the most of the short Indian summer and the incredible display of fall colors, we recommend that you visit us between mid-September and late October. Whether you arrive at the beginning or the peak of this season, the magic is still there: shimmering trees, warm comforting drinks and pumpkin pie.

Anne G and Cécile’s favorite region to enjoy the fall: LANAUDIÈRE for its many parks with numerous waterways, its shimmering colors, the abbey Val Notre Dame nestled in this beautiful nature in which you can recharge your batteries in peace, the sanctuary Marie Reine des Cœurs, the dairy la Vallée Verte.

Summer and spring

From mid-May to the end of June you can still enjoy a quiet and calm Quebec without too many tourists. Temperatures remain mild without too much humidity.

Our favorite region for the summer: LES CANTONS DE L’EST with its numerous hiking trails, the superb abbey of Saint-Benoit-du-Lac and the cheeses made by the monks, the blue angels of David Martel, the unusual lodging at Les Cinq Sens, the numerous spas for relaxation and rejuvenation…

Anne G’s favorite region for spring: LA MONTEREGIE for the sugar shacks and the sanctuaries of the river, Rougemont abbey and its apple trees in bloom, the hikes at Mont St Hilaire, the delicious chocolate factory la Cabosse d’Or, the Strom Spa and the Manoir Rouville Campbell on the Richelieu river.

Thank you for the excellent pilgrimage we were able to experience in the beautiful Province. The organization was perfect from all points of view... The pilgrimage was well orchestrated and we had beautiful encounters in the different places we visited. Thank you also for the choice of the places of celebration. The stay at the Hermitage of Saint-Antoine was particularly appreciated at this time of the year when the multicolored forest was just waiting to be contemplated... The pilgrims returned very satisfied and had a beautiful spiritual experience.
